Under the banner of the Mayor Daley's Summer Jobs Program, the City of Chicago provides over 10,000 jobs annually to young people ages 14-21.

The Corporate Initiative serves as the corporate extension of the summer jobs program, connecting Chicago's talented and motivated youth workforce, ages 16-21, with Chicago private sector businesses.

On The Job!

This past summer, through the Corporate Initiative, nearly 1,000 young people worked in leading law firms, benefits providers, banks, restaurants, hospitals, architectural firms, manufacturers and retail shops, to name just a few. Interns have contributed to large and small companies in many ways - providing customer service, setting up organizational systems, performing administrative duties using the latest software, orchestrating special events, taking inventories, serving as cashiers and food servers, assisting top executives, and more.
