  • Each year, Mayor Daley’s Summer Jobs Program receives more than 40,000 applications from young people seeking summer employment.

  • Most summer jobs last 6–8 weeks, beginning late June and ending early August (dates can be modified to meet employer needs).

  • Jobs may be full-time or part-time.

  • Employers are required to pay at least minimum wage.

  • Participants are ages 16–21.

  • Both employer and youth participant have an Account Executive for ongoing support and assistance.

  • Employers are welcome to invite their youth employee to remain on staff beyond the summer.

  • Mayor Daley’s Summer Jobs Program has successfully provided a link between many young people with disabilities and Chicago businesses.
Employees who work together to support and make a difference in the lives of young people reap the professional and personal rewards of teamwork, unity and boosts in morale.
